Mount Pleasant Kids Coordinator
 
Are you highly relational and able to connect well with kids (ages 5-12), youths, and adults, able to work well on a team and are highly organized? Do you love to create and support an environment for kids to learn about Jesus in a fun and engaging way? If this describes you, then come join our team!
 
The Mount Pleasant Kids Coordinator will report to the Mount Pleasant Children's Pastor and will be part of a larger Tenth-wide ministry team made up of children's workers from other sites.
 
Tenth's vision is to be a church where people of all different backgrounds can discover Christ, experience spiritual transformation, and seek justice for all - and that same vision extends to our kids here at Tenth!


Ways You Will Contribute:
  • Supporting Tenth MP Kids Ministry:
  • Onboarding, overseeing, training, and equipping Leaders
  • Working to integrate curriculum for MP Kids’ Services
  • Helping set up and attending Tenth MP Kids’ Services
  • Identifying and inviting potential leaders from the site to serve in Kids Ministry
  • Communicating with leaders/helpers to ensure they understand upcoming curriculum and are prepared to teach each week
  • Leading services for nursery, toddler, preschool or older kids rooms as required
  • Coordinating leader/helper tasks and lessons each week for the site
  • Ensuring all Safety and Risk Management standards are implemented and maintained
  • Checking in with volunteer leaders/helpers to see how they are doing and identifying opportunities for encouragement, support, or further growth
  • Connecting with parents on Sundays and throughout the week
  • Participating in Tenth MP events to connect with children, families, and caregivers.


What You Bring:
  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree preferred (Family Ministries Diploma/Degree, Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Theology)
  • Diploma of Christian Studies or theological education
  • Early Childhood Education an asset
  • Strong Computer skills (Microsoft Office), Planning Centre Online knowledge an asset
  • Possess an authentic, growing faith in Christ
  • Spiritual maturity and evidence of ongoing personal spiritual formation
  • Has a heart for working with children, families, and leaders of varied social-economic, ethnic, and spiritual backgrounds
  • Must be responsible and able to carry out duties with minimum supervision
  • Can articulate sound theology and philosophy of ministry
  • Relational and outgoing, with a passion for connecting with people
  • Can translate vision and strategy into action
  • Committed to attending Tenth Church site if hired

This is a part-time position where you will work 10 hours per week.

Salary is commensurate with experience; the salary range is $10,400 - $11,440 per annum.
