Site Pastor - Evening

The ideal candidate will be a catalytic pastor who inspires the Tenth Evening community to carry out God’s vision for the church to see people of all different backgrounds discover Christ, experience spiritual transformation, and seek justice for all. The pastor will have an engaging upfront presence with the ability to mobilize others to action and a gift to engage, equip, and develop staff and volunteer leaders. The ideal candidate will have a vibrant relationship with God and connects well with others—especially those on the borderlands of faith who are exploring faith or have no experience with church.

We are looking for a Christ-centred, dynamic leader to join our team and lead our Mount Pleasant Evening Site. As Site Pastor you will shepherd staff, volunteers, and congregants, enabling the community to faithfully fulfill our vision for the Mount Pleasant evening community. You will also be an active member of the Leadership Team.

Ways You Will Contribute:   
Site Pastor (90%) 
  • Serve as the ‘resident’ pastor to those who are part of the evening service.
  • Act as the catalyst and vision bearer to ensure the health and holistic growth of the site. 
  • Foster an atmosphere that enhances authentic worship, promotes spiritual formation, emotional health, and justice for all.
  • Integrate and evaluate standards of quality and integrity for ministries and programs at the site as well as assess that the site’s DNA and character are in line with Tenth’s mission and values. 
  • Create effective systems to connect people to one another and God through Sunday services, life groups, ministries, events, etc. 
  • Effectively facilitate the lateral communication between members of the Leadership Team, Central Support, other Tenth sites, and the site staff. 
  • Engage, equip, empower, and manage staff and volunteer leaders.
  • Ensure a leadership pipeline is developed to meet the current and future needs of the site.
  • Serve as the point person to link the evening community with the broader Tenth family to receive resources and where appropriate serve the larger church and the world.
  • Oversee the planning and oversight of the annual budget at the site level.
  • Provide ongoing coaching to site staff and hold them lovingly accountable for annual ministry and personal development goals. 
 
Leadership Team (10%):
  • Collaborate with the Leadership Team to help develop Tenth-wide strategic planning and initiatives.
  • Oversee and help lead the execution of strategic plans (annual priorities) and initiatives. 
  • Provide peer-to-peer support to other Site Pastors and Ministry Leads.
  • Serve as a role model for spiritual practices, self-care, ongoing leadership development and discipleship growth. 
  • Participate as a member of the Leadership Team. 
 
 
What You Bring:  
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; M.Div. preferred, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in leadership, developing emerging leaders, spiritual formation, and outreach. 
  • An authentic, growing faith in Christ and spiritual maturity. 
  • The loving character and capacity to offer pastoral care and to mobilize others for pastoral care ministry. 
  • The ability to engage in effective conflict resolution. 
  • Relational heart and a love for being with people. 
  • Connects well and has relationships with people who do not yet know Christ or have little to no experience with the church. 

This is a full-time position with hours of work of 40 hours per week.

Salary is commensurate with experience; the salary range is $65,000-$72,000 per annum.
