We are looking for a Kids Pastor/Director for our newest site, Tenth Oakridge, to create a safe, fun and engaging environment for children (preschool to Grade 5) to learn, grow and explore faith.

WAYS YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:
• Lead Oakridge Kids Services:
- Work to create a fun and interactive learning environment for kids on site.
- Review and integrate weekly curriculum for Oakridge.
- Attend Oakridge Sunday Kids’ Services (at least 48 Sundays/year).
- Assist in overseeing Oakridge Kids set up/tear down each Sunday (Classrooms/Check in, etc.)
- Schedule Kids teams on a rotation (Planning Center).
- Liaise with the Director of Tenth Kids and Tenth Kids Administrator to ensure all materials and resources are sourced for each Sunday service.
- Communicate with Kids Leaders to ensure teams are prepared each week.
- Teach classes as required.
- Create and oversee the Program and Activity Budget for Tenth Kids Oakridge, along with Site Pastor.
- Work to design fun and interactive community engagement opportunities on campus and in the neighborhood.
- Ensure Safety & Risk Management standards are implemented and maintained.
- With assistance from Director of Tenth Kids and Tenth Kids Team, invite and onboard potential Kids Leaders. Develop Kids Leaders (teachers/helpers).
• Pastoral Care for Oakridge Kids, Parents, and Leaders:
- Check in with Kids Leaders to see how they are doing and to identify opportunities for further growth, encouragement, or support.
- Connect with parents on Sundays and mid-week.
- Intentionally welcoming new families into our community.
- Participate in Oakridge events to connect with children, their families, and caregivers.
- Direct high crisis pastoral issues to the Site Pastor and the Director of Tenth Kids.
• Support Tenth Kids Initiatives at Oakridge:
- Participate in the development of Tenth Kids initiatives and implementation.
- Assist in parent resourcing, events, and activities as appropriate for Oakridge.
- Communicate needs and ideas to Director of Tenth Kids.
- Supply Kids Ministry-related content (ex. Events, Info Updates, etc.) as needed for the Site newsletter & website.
· Expected Meetings:
- Attend Tenth Oakridge Staff Meetings.
- Participate in bi-weekly one-on-one meeting with the Pastor of Children’s Ministry.
- Join once a month for Tenth-wide Staff Meeting – Wednesday.
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Family Ministries Diploma/Degree, Early Childhood Education Certificate, Bachelor of Education, or significant work experience with children.
- Diploma of Christian Studies or theological education an asset.
- Strong Computer skills (Microsoft Office); Planning Centre Online knowledge an asset.
- An authentic, growing faith in Christ.
- Spiritual maturity and evidence of ongoing personal spiritual formation.
- Has a heart to work with children, families, and leaders of varied social-economic, ethnic, and spiritual backgrounds.
- Must be responsible and able to carry out duties with minimum supervision.
- Can articulate sound theology and philosophy of ministry.
- Relational and outgoing, with a passion for connecting with people.
- Can translate vision and strategy into action.
This is a part-time position where you will work 15 hours per week.
Salary is commensurate with experience; the salary range for this position is $16,000 - $20,000 per annum based on 15 hours per week.
