Tenth Church is seeking a dynamic Young Adults Program Coordinator to join our team this summer! In this role, you will foster authentic friendships, spiritual formation, and growth within the Young Adults ministry. You will be at the heart of building community for young adults, strengthening inter-church relationships, creating meaningful spaces for connection, and fostering spiritual growth through weekly gatherings, engaging events, and service opportunities.

*This position is subject to government funding through the 2025 Youth Canada Summer Jobs program. The successful candidate must meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the Canada Summer Jobs grant (see below).


Ways You Will Contribute:
  • Plan, organize, and co-lead weekly Monday evening gatherings that incorporate worship, study of Scripture, prayer, and community connections, fostering a welcoming environment for young adults (ages 18-25)
  • Foster bi-weekly social gatherings and opportunities for fellowship, including one-on-one connections, to strengthen the young adult community
  • Develop and implement a plan to engage young adults in service projects, nurturing an environment for social justice and participation in community concerns (e.g., serving with Tenth Local and Global ministries)
  • Strengthen relationships with other churches in the city by organizing and participating in collaborative events and networking opportunities
  • Manage social media platforms to promote Young Adults updates, events, and engagement, ensuring an active and inviting online presence
  • Create content that inspires and excites young adults to engage in the life of the church
  • Participate in regular supervision and mentorship sessions with the Site Pastor and Associate Pastor to support personal and professional development
  • Provide administrative support for the Young Adults team
  • Collaborate with pastors, staff, and volunteers as part of a multi-site church ministry
 
What You Bring:
  • Previous experience working with youth and/or young adults, preferably in a leadership, spiritual mentorship, or community-building capacity
  • A theological or ministry-related educational background is a plus but not required
  • Previous volunteer experience in church, parachurch, or community-based organizations is an asset
  • Experience in event planning, coordination, or community engagement is an asset
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a desire to learn and grow in the ability to connect with diverse groups
  • Proficiency in MS 365, social media platforms, and digital communication tools
  • Demonstrated ability to manage resources, goals, and timelines
  • Leadership skills, with a creative, team-oriented mindset and the ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Adaptable, flexible, and a proactive problem solver
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid setting, both in person and online
  • Agree with Tenth Church Statement of Faith
 
CSJ Eligibility Criteria:
  • Between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
  • A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations 
 
This is a summer contract hourly position where you will work 35 hours per week for 8 weeks. The contract will commence in May and end in July 2025.
 
Salary: $17.40 per hour
